JM Blaine is an incredibly talented writer. I’ve been a fan of his work for years over on The Nervous Breakdown. Not only does he put heart and soul into a distinctly southern style of writing, but he writes with the grit of a sinner singing hymns leaning against the front door of a brothel on Sunday morning. He also happens to be a gifted interviewer. Here he is interviewing Anne Lamott. And here he is chatting up Glenn Hughes. All this is to say that I love this guy. As far as I’m concerned, he’s one of the truest people I know and if the apocalypse actually happens and I suddenly find myself with a small group of survivors in a Book of Eli type of scenario, I would want him on my side. His book Midnight in the Belly of the Whale comes out in Spring. I’ll be first in line to buy it. Here is a link to our interview:
